VOLUME I // Exemplars
-

// Ivy Ross
Ivy Ross, chief design officer for consumer devices at Google, explores how art, play, and our senses shape the way we create and live. From a childhood spent noticing details to a career building products and teams, she considers what it means to keep that curiosity alive.
-

// The Interval
The Interval at Fort Mason brings a bar, a library, and the Long Now Foundation’s experiments in long-term thinking into one room. The story explores how clock mechanisms, shared bottles, and a comfortable place to sit give people reasons to stay and talk.
-

// Ben Davis
Ben Davis, founder and chief visionary officer of Illuminate, reflects on bringing The Bay Lights to life. His story follows the persistence, collaboration, and personal change behind a commitment to public art in San Francisco.
-

// Mt. Tamalpais
Mount Tamalpais offers a familiar place to return, its trails and ridgelines changing with the season, light, and weather. The story follows the mountain’s proximity to San Francisco and the sense of proportion an afternoon there can restore.
-

// Tiffany Shlain
Tiffany Shlain, artist, filmmaker, author, and founder of the Webby Awards, burns history into salvaged wood. Her story connects decades of work in film and technology with a return to making by hand and a weekly practice of stepping away from screens.
-

// The Conservatory
The Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park holds a succession of climates beneath its wood-and-glass frame. The story moves through its tropical collections and the neighboring Dahlia Dell, observing the plants and the care that sustains them.
